THE WAIT IS OVER!!!!!

If you've been "WATCHING" this space you're probably wondering What The..................... I'm talking about.

It has finally arrived.

Ta Daaaaa!!!!!

A brand new Holden Commodore VE SSV in RED HOT.

Even though Micayla was excited to have the new car (as you can see in the photo), Greg Overdyk has bought the VY SS and Micayla was bawling her eyes out when it went. She didn't want the car to go, even though we had a better one. Anyone would think someone had died.

It's Coming Soon

It's only a matter of hours away.

One Party After Another

On Saturday 24th Feb, I had a group of friends over for an Undercoverwear Party. It went off really well and I got lots of free and half price stuff. We just have to check with each other what we will be wearing when we go out, as quite a few of us bought the same pair of jeans. The kids had lots of fun playing noisely together, with a couple of hiccups with non sharing and not playing nicely etc etc. You'll always get something when you have such a large group of kids.

We continued the party back at Tammy and Brendons later on that night. I took what was left of the wine from the afternoon and some dessert. Brendon had spent the afternoon cooking a very yummy piece of meat for us all to enjoy with salads. We all relaxed after dinner, chatting and drinking. We are still trying to organise a suitable weekend for all us girls to go away for the weekend. It has gone from April to May and now it's being pushed out to mid June. We'll get away eventually, once we all have a date where no one has anything else planned.

Again the kids were running around so crazy that we couldn't hear each other speak, until they settled down in the play room with some DVD's. Micayla and Bailey had a ball playing with so many kids from early afternoon to very late hours of the night. It's like a party for them. We got home somewhere around 1am.

Happy 1st Birthday Kaytie

Kaytie was born on February 12, 2006 and we celebrated her first birthday on Saturday 17th February. It was soooooo hot. David and Laura set up a couple of kids pools under a cabana and the kids barely got out of them, especially Bailey. Some of the adults had a kick around in them too.

We had a yummy spit roast inside bread rolls and gravy and some salads on the side, But the best part was the deserts. They are always the best part. The only way I could quench my thirst and stay as cool as possible was to suck on 3 cups of ice cubes.

The kids played 'pass the parcel'. Micayla, Nathan, Jaeda, Bailey and Mitchell were all sitting together in one corner of the room. Laura put Kaytie down on the floor opposite and Kaytie did a fast track crawl and made a 'b' line over to Micayla's lap, where she plonked herself and stayed. It was soooo cute.

We sung Happy Birthday to Kaytie and of course she didn't know what all the fuss was about, all she wanted was the cake. You can see by the photo she was quick to help her self to, not just a piece of cake..... the whole cake!!!!

She then had lots of fun opening her presents. She also had a great helper in Micayla.
Opening the present from us, which was a 'My Little Baby Born'.

Doesn't she look cute in a hat she got, she looks like she's ready to go and pick tea in china.
The heat got a little too much for some. Here is Adrian, fallen asleep, again on David and Laura's couch.

Holland Festival

On Saturday February 17th we went to Sandown Racecourse yet again for another Holland Festival. This year it would only be held on the Saturday instead of the whole weekend. Just as well because both days were tipped to be 38 degrees. I think it got to way more than that.

We could only stay for a couple of hours because we were going to Kaytie's 1st birthday for the afternoon. Micayla's oma had made Micayla her very own dutch costume with material she brought back with her from their trip to Holland. She looks so gorgeous, a typical little dutch girl. She also loves to 'help' Oma with selling the cd's and pretends to write everything down for Oma.

It was too hot for Bailey to be dressed in a full dutch costume, he can't handle the heat as well. Not that he'd let us dress him up anyway. He flat out refuses to wear the hat but we are able to get the scarf on him and he does love wearing his clogs.

Because they went to the effort in dressing up they were given free rides. Here they are having fun on the tea cup ride. They also played on the jumping castle. Bailey was having fun hopping from side to side and throwing himself against the wall and falling back onto his back. When the guy put out his hand to take Bailey's ride ticket, Bailey just gave him a Hi 5.

It seems Bailey is becoming very interested in the steam engines. He stands there and watches it like he's trying to work out how it all works. Opa thinks it's fantastic and says that he has a little mate in the waiting to dabble in the engines with him.

Another Update on Bailey's Grommets

Well they are both out now. Saw the doctor tonight. His ear infection has finally cleared up, but now the grommet on the other side has come out of its place in the ear drum. It is also sitting just inside the ear as the other side is. Now we are back to regular visits to the doctors and more series of hearing tests to see if he needs another operation to have them put back in. They have only been in for 9 months and really it's not long enough. They need to be in for a good 18 months for them to really do their job. That's what I think anyway.

I'm also concerned about his speech. It seems ok atm, but over the past week, while he had the infection, his speech started to go backwards. It's understandable with the ear infection blocking everything up again. I started finding it difficult to understand him. I'll be keeping an eye on him to make sure his speech is not affected again. If it is I'll be making sure we get the new grommets in asap.
