We got Micayla's report and had parent teacher interviews this week. She is doing really really well. She is learning at Grade 1 level. We are so proud, she is just blitzing through her reading and progressing up her words sheets REALLY fast.
She does have a tendancy to get 'distracted easily' (I wonder where she gets that from????LOL). She lays on the floor throwing her legs in the air, or swinging her pony tail around her head and hitting people in the face. She just can't sit still that girl. We've always said she has 'ants in her pants'; hey Laura. But when her teacher calls on her for the answer (thinking she'll catch her out for not listening) she always knows the answer.
Her teacher; Miss Boyce did say that Micayla is a delight to have in the class room and is always caring, helpful and thoughtful to others.

Weekend at Loch Sport
We've just come home from spending the weekend with Scott and Tania Graham and their boys. We took the kids out to ride their motorbikes on Saturday. The sun was shining, it was a beautiful day for this time of year. Tania and I took the dogs for a walk while the kids rode, but we lost Monty. Sadie and Kara came out of the bushes but we didn't see Monty; stupid dog. We spent ages looking for him when Tania decided to walk back and get the car while I stayed behind to look for him. She drove back to pick me up and tell me that Monty was already back with the others; grrrrr. Stupid Dog. We didn't even see him turn back.
We took the bikes back to the house and then went to the beach for a look and the kids and dogs could run around on the sand. It was late in the afternoon and the air was getting cold, but it didn't stop the kids running in and playing with the waves. The started just with their bare feet and pants rolled up, next thing Micayla was wet to her waist and then fell in up to her neck. That didn't stop her though, they were having a ball running in and out of the water fully clothed playing in the waves. The fun was instantly over when they got out and wanted to go home. They realised how cold they were and the tears started instantly. We stripped Micayla of her wet clothes and wrapped her in our jumpers and coats and put them all in the shower when we got home. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me so I can't share any photos with you. A real shame too cause they would've been great shots of them having fun all wet and fully clothed and the tears streaming down their faces for the aftershot. Micayla said she had fun playing in the water but it wasn't fun anymore when she got out.
We took the kids out again on their motorbikes before we left to come home to Melbourne and Micayla said "I don't want to go to the beach again, I'm not doing that again!" Micayla is really getting the hang of the motorbike now, she is really picking up a lot of speed. It won't be long and Bailey will be wanting to get on it. He was controlling the throttle all by himself while on the bike with Adrian. I think it will be a new 2 wheeler bike for his birthday so he gets his balance asap to get on the motorbike sooner rather than later.
On the way home we stopped off at Pakey Pets so the kids could choose some fish to put in the new aquarium. We got the standard school of Neons plus 2 albino cat fish.

Bailey's Heart Ultrasound
What a load off my mind. I finally got a call today saying Bailey's heart ultrasound test results came back normal. What a relief.

Micayla loves to be a Fairy
Last Sunday Micayla went to Kealy's 5th Birthday Party. It was a fairy party, which was held in a fairy shop. We all know Micayla jumps at the chance to dress up, so she wore the purple dress she got from Angelic and won't get out of, with her wings and halo. She was sitting on the step waiting to go to the party when I walked up behind her. She looked so beautiful sitting there with her dress all fluffed out so I just had to get the camera out.

Bailey's Swimming Lesson at Kings
It's been a long time since I've taken some photos of Bailey in his swimming lessons. He is doing so well. He is soooo ready to go to K1 but he is about 10cms too short. Actually, I think he will skip K1 and go straight to K2. The "K" levels are where they go into the pool by themselves and learn proper swimming strokes. I can't wait for this to happen. I am sooo over getting wet! Here's the photos I'd like to share with you.
He has to wear the band around his head to keep his plugs in to protect his grommets from water.

Aaarrgghhh! So Frustrating
Bailey had an ultrasound done on his heart yesterday morning but NO ONE can give me any results. The guy who did the test is not qualified to tell me anything. I rang the cardiologist and he's away until next week, then I rang my Doctor and he doesn't get a report until the cardiologist has given him his written report. So now I have a stressful wait until next week until I find anything out. On a lighter note, the doctors are confident that it will come back normal, but the waiting for this confirmation is agonising.

I've been lucky again!
I got a phone call the other day letting me know that I'd one a prize for completing a survey in the new "Parties for Kids" magazine. A couple of days later my prize arrived. Check it out.
It's a Robert Gordan Ceramic Ice-cream Scoop and Spoon Set. Cool hey!!!! The kids love em.

Micayla - 80's Style
Micayla went to a 6th birthday party on Sunday. It was a disco party and she had to dress up with big hair like we did in the 80's and put on her fav dancing clothes. The top and the scarf she's wearing around her waist were costumes she got from an online scrapping friend, (aka Angelic). Thanks Angelic. Check out the pics, she looks sooooo grown up.

Perfect Hearing
For the first time in Bailey's little life he has got 'Perfect Hearing'. Today he had his first hearing test after having the grommets put in and thankfully, it's his last, unless his hearing takes a turn for the worse. Some of the sounds Bailey heard today, I couldn't even hear.
