If you've been "WATCHING" this space you're probably wondering What The..................... I'm talking about.

It has finally arrived.

A brand new Holden Commodore VE SSV in RED HOT.

Even though Micayla was excited to have the new car (as you can see in the photo), Greg Overdyk has bought the VY SS and Micayla was bawling her eyes out when it went. She didn't want the car to go, even though we had a better one. Anyone would think someone had died.

It's only a matter of hours away.

One Party After Another

On Saturday 24th Feb, I had a group of friends over for an Undercoverwear Party. It went off really well and I got lots of free and half price stuff. We just have to check with each other what we will be wearing when we go out, as quite a few of us bought the same pair of jeans. The kids had lots of fun playing noisely together, with a couple of hiccups with non sharing and not playing nicely etc etc. You'll always get something when you have such a large group of kids.

We continued the party back at Tammy and Brendons later on that night. I took what was left of the wine from the afternoon and some dessert. Brendon had spent the afternoon cooking a very yummy piece of meat for us all to enjoy with salads. We all relaxed after dinner, chatting and drinking. We are still trying to organise a suitable weekend for all us girls to go away for the weekend. It has gone from April to May and now it's being pushed out to mid June. We'll get away eventually, once we all have a date where no one has anything else planned.

Again the kids were running around so crazy that we couldn't hear each other speak, until they settled down in the play room with some DVD's. Micayla and Bailey had a ball playing with so many kids from early afternoon to very late hours of the night. It's like a party for them. We got home somewhere around 1am.

Happy 1st Birthday Kaytie

Kaytie was born on February 12, 2006 and we celebrated her first birthday on Saturday 17th February. It was soooooo hot. David and Laura set up a couple of kids pools under a cabana and the kids barely got out of them, especially Bailey. Some of the adults had a kick around in them too.

We had a yummy spit roast inside bread rolls and gravy and some salads on the side, But the best part was the deserts. They are always the best part. The only way I could quench my thirst and stay as cool as possible was to suck on 3 cups of ice cubes.

The kids played 'pass the parcel'. Micayla, Nathan, Jaeda, Bailey and Mitchell were all sitting together in one corner of the room. Laura put Kaytie down on the floor opposite and Kaytie did a fast track crawl and made a 'b' line over to Micayla's lap, where she plonked herself and stayed. It was soooo cute.

We sung Happy Birthday to Kaytie and of course she didn't know what all the fuss was about, all she wanted was the cake. You can see by the photo she was quick to help her self to, not just a piece of cake..... the whole cake!!!!

She then had lots of fun opening her presents. She also had a great helper in Micayla.
Opening the present from us, which was a 'My Little Baby Born'.

Doesn't she look cute in a hat she got, she looks like she's ready to go and pick tea in china.
The heat got a little too much for some. Here is Adrian, fallen asleep, again on David and Laura's couch.

Holland Festival

On Saturday February 17th we went to Sandown Racecourse yet again for another Holland Festival. This year it would only be held on the Saturday instead of the whole weekend. Just as well because both days were tipped to be 38 degrees. I think it got to way more than that.

We could only stay for a couple of hours because we were going to Kaytie's 1st birthday for the afternoon. Micayla's oma had made Micayla her very own dutch costume with material she brought back with her from their trip to Holland. She looks so gorgeous, a typical little dutch girl. She also loves to 'help' Oma with selling the cd's and pretends to write everything down for Oma.

It was too hot for Bailey to be dressed in a full dutch costume, he can't handle the heat as well. Not that he'd let us dress him up anyway. He flat out refuses to wear the hat but we are able to get the scarf on him and he does love wearing his clogs.

Because they went to the effort in dressing up they were given free rides. Here they are having fun on the tea cup ride. They also played on the jumping castle. Bailey was having fun hopping from side to side and throwing himself against the wall and falling back onto his back. When the guy put out his hand to take Bailey's ride ticket, Bailey just gave him a Hi 5.

It seems Bailey is becoming very interested in the steam engines. He stands there and watches it like he's trying to work out how it all works. Opa thinks it's fantastic and says that he has a little mate in the waiting to dabble in the engines with him.

Another Update on Bailey's Grommets

Well they are both out now. Saw the doctor tonight. His ear infection has finally cleared up, but now the grommet on the other side has come out of its place in the ear drum. It is also sitting just inside the ear as the other side is. Now we are back to regular visits to the doctors and more series of hearing tests to see if he needs another operation to have them put back in. They have only been in for 9 months and really it's not long enough. They need to be in for a good 18 months for them to really do their job. That's what I think anyway.

I'm also concerned about his speech. It seems ok atm, but over the past week, while he had the infection, his speech started to go backwards. It's understandable with the ear infection blocking everything up again. I started finding it difficult to understand him. I'll be keeping an eye on him to make sure his speech is not affected again. If it is I'll be making sure we get the new grommets in asap.

BBQ at Jells Park

On Sunday 11th Feb we met all the guys at Jells Park for a BBQ lunch. All the guys means the group of friends through the school. We all sat around chatting having a relaxing afternoon while the kids all played on the play ground or played cricket or golf around the park. The wind was blowing a gale but that didn't stop us having fun. Micayla and Bailey have so many kids to play with; 8 of her school friends plus all the brothers and sisters. It's hard seperating them all to go home. None of them want to.

After the park we popped in to Adrian's parents for a coffee and caught up with them for the rest of the afternoon. The kids watched Popeye. They just love that show. Bailey loves how Popeye has big muscles.

Baileys Grommet Problem

As you would already be aware, Bailey had an operation last May to have grommets put into his ear. They made a huge difference almost immediately and his speech has developed beautifully since. But now we have a new problem. A few weeks ago, he fell over in the bath, his ear plug came out and he got water in his ear. Getting water in the ear with grommets creates problems as is the case with Bailey. He developed an ear infection, which he had drops for. This infection has pushed the grommet out of the ear drum where it is supposed to sit. It's still in the ear but not sitting in the drum, therefore not doing its job. The drops didn't clear it up and he went on a course of antibiotics for a week. Another trip to the doctor only to find the antibiotics didn't clear it up and he's on a stronger course now. The grommet had only been in for 8 months when it came out and should ideally be in for around 18 months. It looks like we'll be back at the hospital for another grommet to be put back in.

Monty got lost - Again!!!

On Wednesday morning of the 7th, Micayla and Bailey were out the front picking roses and left the front door wide open. The dog got out and didn't come back in with them. Didn't even realise it until an hour later when it was time to put him out and take Micayla to school and Bailey to creche. This made me angry that he'd got out again, so I took Micayla off to school, had a little look around the estate before taking Bailey to creche, which made him late. I was meant to be going to Ringwood but decided to come home, call the council, the pound and have a good look around trying to find him. I gave up and went to Ringwood anyway, there was nothing else I could do and the pound had my mobile number to contact me on if he turned up. I got back home around lunch time and by this stage I was getting really upset. It was lonely at home without him. He is always following me around the house and sitting at my feet. He had never been gone 5 hours before.

Finally at about 4.30pm I received a phone call to say a lady had my dog. It turned out he'd been playing with her dog all day in their backyard 2 streets behind us. Her kids had picked him up and they put him in their backyard while she went off to work. She was running late, so she decided to deal with it when she got home. I was just about to put up big sob story missing dog posters up in the shops. The kids were so excited to see him back home. He was totally oblivious to our stress while he was having a ball on a 'day out' with a new friend. He came home so filthy from rolling around in the dirt with the other dog. He was going to the doggy hairdresser on the Friday but he had to have a bath before I took him there. He was so dirty I was embarrased to take him like that and I thought that the clippers might hurt him if his coat was dirty instead of soft. It's a bit like cleaning your house before the house cleaner arrives though LOL.

This is a photo of him taken at Loch Sport, but as I am typing this he has since been clipped.

Now he looks more like this:

But this photo was taken back in November 06

Gymnastics

Micayla has given up dancing and started Gymnastics at the Leisure Centre in Berwick on Monday 5th Feb. This is where Mel teaches. She absolutely loves it and she is pretty good at it too. Does great cartwheels for someone her age and has been doing them well for a couple of years. She has a smile from ear to ear the whole time she is there. Sometimes when she was at dancing she looked like she didn't want to be there. Sarah and Brandon Peters has also started there and Micayla is very excited to have Micayla there too. Julie thought it would be a good idea for Sarah when I told her about Micayla doing it. When they are at the river Mel always has the girls doing gymastics and then Brandon and Bailey join in too, the boys look so cute. When Bailey is older I'll probably let him do it to if he wants to, because he loves all the climbing and jumping around too. But they had karate going in another room and Bailey seemed to show an interest in that.

BBQ at David and Laura's

On Saturday 3rd February we went to David and Laura's for a BBQ tea. Life has been soooo busy lately that it's been a while since we've done that. Steve and Mel were there too. Steve has just had an operation on his shoulder. After dinner we played poker. It was very difficult for Steve to hold the cards and play them as well so his turns always took ages. After the game of poker was finished we played reverse 500, which I had never played before so they taught me. Adrian couldn't sit up at the table for long cause he'd hurt his back 'again' and he ended up falling asleep on the couch with Bailey in his arms. You can pop over to Kaytie's Story on the link on the right. There is a photo of Bailey and Adrian asleep over there.
