Trivia Night
On Saturday night we went along with Scott and Tania Graham to the Lynbrook Pre School Trivia Night. What a fantastic night. Tony Shaw was our Trivia Master and he did a fantastic job. We were up on our feet doing dancing challenges a lot. The girls had to dance to "You're the one that I want", so Tania and I did it dirty dancing style and the boys were enjoying that. The boys then had to do the actions to The Wiggles "Bears now Asleep". That was pathetic!!! We also danced the chicken dance for a bit of fun and YMCA at the end. One of the games you had to play was the "Honesty" game where you had to sit down if....... If you were the winner then you had led a sheltered life. Some of the questions were; sit down if you've been so drunk this year that you threw up", or you've fallen asleep on the toilet. Tania fessed up to that one ROFL. I had to sit down to wearing a G String, mind you I would've had to sit down to a lot of them. We also had to try and be the best "air guitarist". I did for a little while until my hair piece fell off from throwing my head around ROFLMAO. You'd think I was drunk doing all this stuff but no, I was on the water all night but I was just having way too much fun!!!!

Dinner with Friends
We went to dinner at our good friends Geoff and Lisa's last night. She cooked us a delicious lamb roast. It was soooo yummy, I really pigged out. Lamb roast was followed by a big slab of Apple pie and cream. Yummy again. Thanks Lisa, now I have to work out twice as hard on the cross trainer. It was soooo good to see them again. It has been ages and I've missed them. Geoff and Lisa are always great company and so much fun to be around.
Micayla and Bailey were having a great time with Stephanie and Aaron. Stephanie made Micayla a scoobie (Spelling ???) and she was biting on it and it pulled her tooth out. So another visit from the tooth fairy last night, luckily it wasn't too windy for her to come this time. She's becoming broke really fast, while Micayla is getting richer.
All Bailey wanted to do was play with Aaron's pool table and sat there for ages stacking the balls into the triangle, messing them up and restacking them. Kept him quite for ages. Then the camera came out and Bailey could see himself on the tele, which made Bailey in his element and put on a spectical for them. The kids took some great photos of each other, can't wait to see your layouts when you've scrapped them Stephanie and Aaron.
Really looking forward to seeing them again, only this time it won't be sooo long in between.

Too Windy for the Tooth Fairy!!!!
Micayla came into me very early this morning crying because the "Tooth Fairy" didn't come. OMG!! I sat straight up in bed thinking "how horrible am I". Very quickly came up with the excuse that it was far too windy last night for the Tooth Fairy to visit. Her delicate little wings were just not strong enough to fly in the strong winds we had last night. Micayla will find that she has been while she was at school and while the house was empty this afternoon; just in case it's windy again tonight.

My Scrap Weekend Away
On Friday 11th August we headed off to The Patch for a girls weekend away. We stayed in the Cherry Blossom cottage in a gorgeous little getaway. 6 of us went but only 5 scrapped. Heather came along just to get away and she was our cook. She cooked us a delicious roast beef and pork for dinner on Saturday night followed by apple crumble, yummy. She also made us scones for afternoon tea. She was also a gem for bringing me a blanket for my legs when I complained they were cold. Thanks Heather! Thanks to Tanya for bringing the Krispy Kremes, but they really are "just a donut".
On Friday night, while scrapping away we played a game of body parts. Calling out a part of the body beginning with a letter of the alphabet that someone would say. We had tears of laughter rolling down our faces. We played lots of music from the eighties but mostly James Blunt got a good workout in the CD player, mostly at mine and Paula's request.
I hardly got any sleep on Friday night due to a certain person snoring all night, tried using my headphones but had to turn the music up so loud that the music kept me awake. I couldn't sleep anymore so I got up very early Saturday morning and went for a run, but it was too cold and I had an asthma attack and had to return to the cottage for my ventolin. We watched "How to Lose a Guy in 10 days" on Saturday night, my all time favourite movie and I just couldn't take my eyes off the tele to scrap, even though I've seen it about 6 times. We had lots of laughs, the girls I went away with were all very laid back and lots and lots of fun. I had quite a few red wines and stayed up late so that I would fall straight to sleep when I went to bed, but my room mates had changed around. They were already asleep when I went to bed and there was no snoring and I fell straight to sleep. Apparently though, the others didn't sleep too well cause the heating was left on and there was some snoring, but I didn't hear a thing. Yeah!!!
Come Sunday morning we managed to fit in a tiny bit of scrapping before packing up. We decided that Friday evening to midday Sunday was just not long enough and next time we'll make it an extra day. One full day of scrapping is just not enough!!! Even though Saturday wasn't a real full day of scrapping cause we did make some trips out.
We got quite a bit of scrapping done though, I think Tanya's was the record; she scrapped over 25 layouts I think. I did 5 layouts with 2 of them being double page spreads. You will be able to view them in my link on the right hand side of this page as soon as I photograph them and upload them.
I had a couple of photos of the weekend, but for some reason after many tries, Blogger won't let me upload them. grrrrr. If I can get them to work I'll post a piccy.

I Won Again!
I jumped on the Scrapbooking Memories forum today and one of the girls posted a thread notifying us that there is another winner among us. I went into the thread thinking "I wonder who it is this time." Low and behold it was me! I had no idea I'd won, so thanks for letting me know Scrapdragon.
I'd actually won another online challenge on the Scrapbook Creations website. They were after a layout done with tags and pockets. My submission was a last minute submission of my "Panning for Gold" layout I did a couple of months ago. It has lots of bits and pieces hiding under pockets created by the photo matt etc. Thought I would submit just to be in it and of course not expecting anything cause I wasn't sure what I did was actually what they were after. Aparantly it was.
So now I am waiting for my prize to be delivered and if it's anything like the last time it will be a couple of hundred dollars worth of scrapping goodies. I can't wait, it's like Christmas when these prizes come.
This is the layout that won.

An Eventful Weekend
Adrian went off on a boys weekend bike riding this weekend, although he nearly didn't make it. He spent a couple of hours fixing the front brake on his bike. We thought he wasn't going anywhere at one stage. Glad he got it working though because I didn't want him hanging around the house like a bear with a sore head if he couldn't go riding. Mel Fox came over to scrap with me on Saturday. We had the whole day planned for the kids to play and we'd scrap all day. OMG, we were lucky to even get 1 page done, always stopping to break up fights between Bailey and Deegan for not 'sharing', and then Darren rang. He'd been vomiting all day and wanted Mel to go up to where the boys were and pick him up. So there goes our scrapping together. Oh well, better luck next time. I continued however, into the wee hours of the morning (3am) while chatting online with my forum buddies.
That night however, before putting Micayla into bed, we discovered some spots on her back. Now there has been chicken pox going around her class and it seemed the only kids picking it up were those that had been vaccinated. We were supposed to go to Nathan Graham's birthday party on the Sunday afternoon. After chatting on Nocturnal Natters on the SM Forum, the girls there said what I'd described sounded a lot like chicken pox. So I took her to the doctors Sunday morning just to make sure and it's just as well I just didn't assume she had cp and keep her home from the party and school for no reason. Turns out the spots are Mollescum (something like that anyway), which is in the family of the wart virus (I think) and need to be left alone and will go away on their own anywhere between 2 months to 2 years. They are however very contagious if touched. Not a problem to anyone else, as long as you don't touch them, but if Micayla scratches them and then scratches another part of her body, say the neck she will cause a trail of these spots from one site to the next site where she scratched. I'm pretty sure she has an understanding of this and doesn't scratch them. Actually, now she is affraid to scratch any part of her body. They are not itchy though unless aggrevated. Hopefully they won't cause much problem for her and us. At least she got to go to the party. She was happy about that. After all she does love Nathan. She says she's going to marry him. That is when she's not going to marry Mitchell, the brother. She can't make up her mind.

A promotion for Adrian
Yeah!!! Congratulations for my dear Hubby. He was promoted this week to Drilling Product Manager. Although it will mean a lot more work for him because this is on top of what he is already doing. He will be spending more time away from home with interstate travel and possibly more international travel. Oh well!!! More scrapping time for me.
OMG - What a Job!!!!
I got sick and tired of the mess of Micayla's room. I kept asking her to clean it and it never looked like she did it. So when she got home from school we both got stuck into cleaning it together.
We started by removing all the underbed storage boxes so that we could move the bed into a new position. Here I was thinking it would just be the boxes coming out but first I had to move all the little bits and pieces out the way of which she has just pushed under her bed to get it out of sight. Then she had to get right under the bed to get out the rest. You should have seen what came out. OMG, it took us 5 HOURS to clean her room. Finally at about 9.30pm when it was all clean, not to mention the rest of the house where Bailey was left to run a muck, the kids were tucked in and thankfully straight to sleep.
Her bed was under the window and now it's moved up against a full wall because she keeps coming up to us through the night wanting her heat pack reheated because she's cold. I'm hoping moving the bed will solve that problem because I think she's feeling a cold draft coming from the window.
After all that though, we still have to tackle her wardrobe.

Kaytie's Christening
On Sunday we went to little Kaytie Anne Overdyk's Christening. I was honoured to be asked to take the photographs for them and made it my mission to capture as much of the story of the day as possible.
But in true Kaytie form the day was full of drama, with Kaytie having 2 trips to hospital. At least she was there for her christening. Actually make that 3 trips to hospital when you count the one in the wee hours of the next morning.
You can view photos and the whole story by clicking on the link to 'Kayties Story' on the right hand side of this page.
